The summary below is just a brief overview which can serve as a reminder of what to do, once you have read and understood all the detailed information, including the advice about contraindications and checking with your doctor first, contained on the original Moon Diet website.
A Brief Summary
Full Moon – best time to start. From the time of the exact full moon begin fasting for 24 hours – water, fruit juice, vegetable juices only, no solid food.
Waning Moon – a period of detox and elimination. Cravings decrease and weight is easier to maintain. Drink plenty of water (about 8 glasses per day) and consume a healthy, balanced diet.
New Moon – greatest period of elimination. Fast for 24 hours (same as at full moon) – in addition, detoxifying teas have greatest effect at this time.
Waxing Moon – food cravings increase, reaching their peak at the full moon. Try to eat less during this period, and make sure your evening meal is finished a few hours before bedtime. Drink more fluids in the afternoon to reduce hunger at dinner time and control cravings before bedtime. No snacks after dinner and do not eat again until morning.
